Founded in July 1988, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) is a self-discipline and nationwide trade organization, formed jointly and voluntarily by various economic organizations registered in accordance with law in the People's Republic of China and engaged in import and export of machinery & Electronic products and related activities. Now it has more than 6,500 members.
According to the provisions in Article 56, Chapter 9 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People’s Republic of China revised in 2004, the mission of the Chamber is to provide services in such fields as the production, marketing, information and training related to foreign trade, conduct coordination and self-discipline, propose the application for relevant foreign trade remedy measures, safeguard the interests of its member enterprises and the industry as a whole, reflect the suggestions related to foreign trade from its member enterprises to the government departments concerned and implement promotional campaigns of foreign trade.

Sinopec Group is its legal representative. Sinopec Group executes the investor rights over related state assets owned by its full subsidiaries, controlled companies and share-holding companies. These rights include receiving returns on assets, making major decisions and appointing management teams. The Group operates, manages and supervises state assets according to related laws, and shoulders the corresponding responsibility of maintaining and increasing the value of state assets. China Petroleum and Chemical Company (Sinopec Corp.), controlled by Sinopec Group, issued H-shares and A-shares at overseas and home respectively in October 2000 and August 2001 and was listed on stock markets in Hong Kong, New York, London and Shanghai. By end 2006, Sinopec Corp. had a total of 86.7 billion shares, 75.84% of which is held by Sinopec Group, 19.35% by foreign investors and 4.81% by domestic investors.
Sinopec Group’s key business activities include: industrial investment and investment management; the exploration, production, storage and transportation (including pipeline transportation), marketing and comprehensive utilization of oil and natural gas; oil refining; the wholesale of gasoline, kerosene and diesel; the production, marketing, storage, transportation of petrochemicals and other chemical products; the design, construction and installation of petroleum and petrochemical engineering projects; the overhaul and maintenance of petroleum and petrochemical equipments; the manufacturing of electrical and mechanical equipments; the research, development, application and consulting services of technology, information and alternative energy products, the import and export of commodities and technologies both for the Group and as a proxy (with the exception of those commodities and technologies that are either banned by the State or to be carried out by the state-designated companies). |

PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina) was established as a joint stock company with limited liabilities under the Company Law of the People's Republic of China (the PRC) on November 5, 1999 as part of the restructuring of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). In the restructuring, CNPC injected into PetroChina most of the assets and liabilities of CNPC relating to its exploration and production, refining and marketing, chemicals and natural gas businesses.
PetroChina, one of the largest companies in the PRC in terms of sales, is engaged in a broad range of activities related to petroleum and natural gas, including:
- Exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas;
- Refining, transportation, storage and marketing, including import and export, of crude oil and petroleum products;
- Production and sale of chemical products; and
- Transmission, marketing and sale of natural gas.

Established in May 1952, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) comprises VIPS, enterprises and organizations representing the economic and trade sectors in China. It is the most important and the largest institution for the promotion of foreign trade in China.
The aims of the CCPIT are to operate and promote foreign trade, to use foreign investment, to introduce advanced foreign technologies, to conduct activities of Sino-foreign economic and technological cooperation in various forms, to promote the development of economic and trade relations between China and other countries and regions around the world, and to promote the mutual understanding and friendship between China and peoples and economic and trade circles of all nations around the world, in line with law and government policies of the People's Republic of China.
Pudong Sub-council founded in October 1993, its main features are: investment, international liaison, international exhibitions, international conferences, information consultation, Member services, legal services, issuing certification. International Exhibition is the branch of the Department of specialized exhibitions abroad in the business sector. Its purpose is to run the show from the Shanghai and Pudong district enterprises, foreign-funded enterprises, and foreign trade development needs of the units, as overseas exhibition companies to enter the international market, collecting information, and promote exports and foreign currency earnings. |
